Our client is a specialist children's residential care provider dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care for children and young people.
They are looking for compassionate and committed Residential Care Practitioners to support children and young people within a nurturing residential setting. The successful candidate will help create a safe, stable and positive home environment, supporting the emotional, social and developmental needs of each child while promoting independence and positive outcomes.
Residential Care Practitioner
Locations: Erith, Kent (DA8) or Abbey Wood, London (SE2)
Salary: £31,724–£34,944 per annum (£12.71–£14.00 per hour, based on a 48-hour working week)
Hours: Full-time and Part-time opportunities available
Shift Pattern: 12-hour day and night shifts, with a minimum of two shifts per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
- Promote a safe, caring and nurturing home environment.
- Support children with their emotional, behavioural and developmental needs.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all young people.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and external professionals.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.
Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
- Experience supporting children or young people in a residential or care setting is desirable.
- Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice and child development.
- Calm, patient and resilient approach with excellent communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
