We are currently recruiting Residential Childcare & Young People's Support Workers to support vulnerable children and young people across the Morpeth area. You will be supporting young people with a range of additional needs, including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.

The Role

As a Residential Childcare & Young People's Support Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support within residential and community-based settings, ensuring young people feel safe, valued, and supported.

We can offer a variety of shift patterns, including:

  • Day shifts
  • Long day shifts
  • Waking night shifts
  • Sleep-in shifts
  • Weekend work

Applicants must be able to commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week, with flexibility available across different shift patterns.



Key Responsibilities

  • Providing person-centred support tailored to individual needs
  • Building positive, professional relationships with young people
  • Supporting daily routines, education, and social activities
  • Encouraging independence, life skills, and personal development
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour management
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Working collaboratively with families, schools, and healthcare professionals
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • SEND and SEMH support experience
  • Residential childcare experience
  • Youth work or mentoring experience
  • Health and Social Care background
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
