This is an opportunity for a strong and visible manager who understands that good care, a stable team and sound operational management are essential to a successful home. You will have full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring residents receive safe, person-centred care in a welcoming and well-managed environment.
The role. As Home Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading, developing and retaining a capable and caring staff team.
- Maintaining high standards of person-centred residential and dementia care.
- Ensuring the home remains compliant with CQC requirements, safeguarding responsibilities and relevant legislation.
- Managing care planning, medication processes, risk assessments, audits and quality assurance.
- Building positive relationships with residents, families, GPs, local authorities and other healthcare professionals.
- Managing recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and performance management.
- Monitoring occupancy, enquiries, staffing levels, agency use and budgets.
- Responding appropriately to complaints, incidents and safeguarding concerns.
- Creating a positive and accountable culture focused on delivering good care.
- Ensuring the home is inspection ready at all times.
You will need:
- Previous leadership experience within a residential care home.
- Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and quality assurance.
- Experience managing and developing care teams.
- Confidence with care planning, medication management, audits and compliance.
- Good commercial awareness, including occupancy, staffing and budget management.
- A practical, organised and approachable management style.
- A genuine commitment to maintaining high standards of care for older people.
- Salary of £45,000 to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- Full-time, permanent position.
