Residential Home Manager A well-established, medium-sized residential care home in Stockport is looking for an experienced Home Manager to lead the service.

This is an opportunity for a strong and visible manager who understands that good care, a stable team and sound operational management are essential to a successful home. You will have full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring residents receive safe, person-centred care in a welcoming and well-managed environment.

The role. As Home Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading, developing and retaining a capable and caring staff team.
  • Maintaining high standards of person-centred residential and dementia care.
  • Ensuring the home remains compliant with CQC requirements, safeguarding responsibilities and relevant legislation.
  • Managing care planning, medication processes, risk assessments, audits and quality assurance.
  • Building positive relationships with residents, families, GPs, local authorities and other healthcare professionals.
  • Managing recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and performance management.
  • Monitoring occupancy, enquiries, staffing levels, agency use and budgets.
  • Responding appropriately to complaints, incidents and safeguarding concerns.
  • Creating a positive and accountable culture focused on delivering good care.
  • Ensuring the home is inspection ready at all times.
About you. You will be an experienced Registered Manager, Home Manager or Deputy Manager ready to step up, with a background in elderly residential or dementia care.

You will need:

  • Previous leadership experience within a residential care home.
  • Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and quality assurance.
  • Experience managing and developing care teams.
  • Confidence with care planning, medication management, audits and compliance.
  • Good commercial awareness, including occupancy, staffing and budget management.
  • A practical, organised and approachable management style.
  • A genuine commitment to maintaining high standards of care for older people.

  • Salary of £45,000 to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
