Residential Support Worker

About the Role

We are currently seeking dedicated & experienced Residential Support Workers to join a supportive team within a children’s residential home in Oldham.

The home provides specialist residential care for children & young people up to the age of 18 with Learning Disabilities and Autism, some of whom may display behaviours that challenge.

Key Responsibilities

• Support children & young people in their daily routines & activities
• Create a safe, caring & structured home environment
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide 24-hour care & support
• Encourage personal development, independence & emotional wellbeing
• Provide personal care where required, depending on the needs of the child
• Maintain accurate records & follow safeguarding procedures

Requirements

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – desirable
• Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma (training & support provided)
• Experience supporting children with Autism, Learning Disabilities, or SEN
• Understanding of behaviours that challenge
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one – we can assist)
• Full UK Driving Licence – required
• Ability to provide a full employment history / CV
