£37,500 for 3 days per week (£62,500 FTE) + 8% annual bonus

If you are an experienced senior leader in children’s residential care and want a role where you can influence quality, safeguarding and service development without being tied to the day-to-day running of one home, this could be a strong next move.
We are recruiting for a Responsible Individual to provide strategic oversight across two children’s residential homes in Walsall.
This is a senior leadership role focused on supporting and challenging Registered Managers, maintaining strong Ofsted standards and making sure the services continue to deliver safe, effective and high-quality care.
You will work closely with the Dual Registered Manager and senior leadership team, acting as an important link between the provider, Ofsted, local authorities and other external professionals.
What you'll be responsible for

Providing strategic oversight across two children’s residential homes

Supporting, developing and challenging Registered Managers

Maintaining strong standards of safeguarding, governance and quality assurance

Ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards

Supporting preparation for Ofsted inspections and regulatory visits

Reviewing service performance, risks and areas for improvement

Working with local authorities, social care teams and other external professionals

Providing oversight of budgets and financial controls

Helping shape the continued development and quality of both homes
About you
-
Significant experience within children’s residential care
-
Previous experience as a Responsible Individual, Registered Manager, Operations Manager or in a senior leadership role within children’s services

Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards

Experience supporting Registered Managers and driving service improvement

Strong safeguarding, governance and quality assurance experience

Experience of budgets and financial oversight

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, Children, Young People & Families Manager, or equivalent Level 5 qualification

Full UK driving licence
Previous Responsible Individual experience would be ideal, but strong senior leaders with substantial children’s residential management experience may also be considered.
