Position: Retail Designer

Location: Market Harborough, Leicestershire

Hourly Rate: £25 to £50 - dependent on experience and level

Employment Type: 3-Month Contract

A Retail Designer is required to join an established, award-winning architectural and design practice on an initial 3-month contract. The practice delivers retail and commercial projects for recognised brands across the UK and internationally, creating engaging spaces that combine strong creative concepts with practical retail environments.

This role will focus predominantly on the early RIBA stages, making it particularly suitable for a creative Retail Designer with strong concept design, space planning and visualisation skills. Candidates at various levels will be considered, with the hourly rate dependent on experience. You will work closely with the wider design team to develop initial ideas into compelling design proposals and presentations for clients.

• Develop creative concepts for retail and commercial environments.
• Work predominantly across the early RIBA stages, from initial brief and concept through design development.
• Produce high-quality 3D visualisations, renders and presentation material to communicate design intent.
• Develop mood boards, material palettes, finishes and initial design proposals.
• Produce retail layouts and undertake space planning.
• Translate brand guidelines and client briefs into engaging physical environments.
• Develop initial concepts for fixtures, displays, furniture and customer-facing spaces.
• Prepare client presentations and support design reviews.
• Work collaboratively with architects, interior designers and the wider project team.
• Develop concepts with consideration for their eventual technical and practical delivery.

• Previous experience within retail design, Architecture, interior design, interior architecture or a related discipline.
• Strong concept design and creative visualisation skills are essential.
• Experience working across the early stages of retail projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, space planning and high-quality visualisations.
• Good understanding of retail environments and customer experience.
• Proficiency in relevant 3D modelling, rendering and Adobe Creative Suite software.
• Revit experience would be advantageous.
• Ability to interpret client briefs and brand guidelines creatively.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Candidates at various levels of experience will be considered.
• Available for an initial 3-month contract.
