Risk & Assurance Advisor

Finance | Newington House, London | Permanent | 7.5% bonus

Make an impact where assurance drives improvement

Join UK Power Networks as a Risk & Assurance Advisor and help strengthen how we identify risk, meet regulatory requirements and maintain effective internal controls. Working in a team combining Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk, Regulatory Compliance and Fraud Investigations, you will provide practical, evidence-based insight that supports better decisions and continuous improvement.

Take ownership of meaningful assurance work

You will lead a varied portfolio of internal audit and assurance assignments, assessing risks and controls and turning findings into clear, proportionate recommendations. You will build trusted relationships with colleagues at every level, including senior leaders and external stakeholders, while contributing accurate information for quarterly shareholder reporting.

You will also use data analysis to strengthen assurance activity, support the responsible and safe use of AI, explore new assurance techniques and identify opportunities for more effective integrated assurance across the organisation.

What you will bring

  • Experience in internal audit or a closely related assurance, risk or compliance role.
  • A relevant professional qualification, degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • The ability to plan and deliver independent, structured and high-quality assurance work.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the confidence to explain complex or sensitive findings.
  • Strong judgement, integrity and the ability to influence and build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to turn evidence into practical improvements.

Qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA or IRM, experience in a regulated, utilities, energy or industrial environment, and knowledge of data analytics, fraud investigations or regulatory compliance would be advantageous.

What is in it for you?

  • Salary dependent on experience, plus a 7.5% bonus.
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Personal Pension Plan with UK Power Networks contributing 8% or 10%.
  • Reservist leave, season ticket and tenancy deposit loans.
  • Cycle to Work, Home & Tech and Green Car Leasing schemes.
  • Retail discounts, discounted gym membership, Occupational Health support and an Employee Assistance Programme.

Ready to apply?

If you want to use assurance, insight and collaboration to improve a major regulated organisation, we would like to hear from you. We welcome applicants with transferable experience who meet most of the essential criteria, even if their career path has been different.
