Inside IR35 – 10 months – 40 hour week

Stansted (3 days p/week on site) – BPSS or CTC/airside pass

Role Purpose

The Risk Manager supports the delivery of effective risk management across the Stansted Transformation Programme (STN TP). Working as part of the Programme Risk Team, the role promotes a proactive risk culture, ensures consistent application of risk processes, and supports qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, reporting, and governance to enable informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of risk management activities across the STN TP.
  • Facilitate project and programme risk workshops, maintaining high-quality risk data and records.
  • Promote consistent application of risk management processes and best practice across the programme.
  • Support the identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting of project and programme risks.
  • Maintain the programme risk register (riskHive), ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Contribute to qualitative and quantitative risk analysis (QCRA/QSRA) and programme assurance activities.
  • Prepare risk reports, dashboards, and management information to support governance and decision-making.
  • Support risk onboarding, training, and the continuous improvement of risk management tools, templates, and processes.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams, project controls, and programme stakeholders to embed effective risk management.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting risk management or project controls within major infrastructure, transport, energy, or complex programmes.
  • Working knowledge of recognised risk management principles (e.g. ISO 31000, APM or IRM).
  • Experience facilitating risk workshops and maintaining risk registers.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with risk management systems (e.g. riskHive, Safran, PRA, ARM or similar).

Desirable

  • Foundation-level risk management qualification or working towards one.
  • Experience supporting quantitative risk analysis (QCRA/QSRA).
  • Understanding of how risk integrates with cost, schedule, change, and project controls.
  • Awareness of Value Management principles.
