The Role
As Risk Manager, you will provide risk management advice to two critical projects. This is a site-based role with an expectation of three days per week on site, working closely with the Project Manager, Joint Project Team (JPT) and delivery partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering a bottom-up refresh of Tranche 0 risk, with support to other tranches as required
- Chairing monthly risk reviews; facilitating workshops; producing minutes, risk register updates, and monthly dashboards
- Driving risk and opportunity identification, mitigation planning, and action tracking
- Ensuring risk quality: removing duplication, maintaining manageable work package risk profiles, and highlighting trends
- Supporting QRR and developing QSRA/QCRA models, including quarterly SRA/CRA outputs
- Working with Change Management to capture Tier 2 and 3 impacts
- Leading assumptions management and maintaining the Master Data and Assumptions List (MDAL)
- Providing directorate-level risk insight and maintaining productive supplier/partner relationships
- UK National with eligability to gain Security Check (SC) clearance
- Proven delivery of risk management within complex infrastructure works programmes
- In-depth working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
- Expert understanding of risk processes, analysis, and building big-picture risk views from detailed data
- Strong stakeholder management, organisation, and leadership capability
- Confidence operating in a live operational environment with shifting priorities and interdependencies
- Strong IT skills; able to communicate clearly with senior stakeholders (desirable)
- Membership of a relevant professional body (desirable)
