The Role As a Road Freight Operator, you will be responsible for managing road freight shipments across the UK and Europe, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for customers from booking through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating UK and European road freight shipments
- Managing full load (FTL) and groupage movements
- Liaising with customers, carriers, and overseas partners
- Obtaining and negotiating freight rates
- Monitoring shipments and resolving operational issues
- Completing all relevant transport and customs documentation
- Ensuring compliance with company and industry regulations
- Providing exceptional customer service throughout the shipment process
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers
- Previous experience within Road Freight Operations or Freight Forwarding
- Knowledge of UK and European road freight movements
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously
- Commercial awareness and customer-focused approach
- Experience with customs procedures would be advantageous
- Positive attitude and team-player mentality
