Our client, Ringway Jacobs, a leading provider of integrated highways management, is seeking a Road Safety Assistant to join their team across various sites in Essex.

The Road Safety Assistant will be working within Safer Essex Roads Partnership working to deliver Vision Zero, zero road deaths or serious injuries in Essex by 2040. This role will be working with partner organisations of SERP and with public to communicate road safety messages.


This role will deliver the road safety programme for education in primary schools. The post holder will be required to work across the whole county, however, to keep travel to a minimum, the group of schools that you will be assigned will be as close to your home location as possible. You will report to the Road Safety Team Leader who will allocate work, provide training and development as required.

The Role

  • Work as part of a team delivering road safety interventions, raising awareness, educating and behavioural change sessions to children and adults.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with partner organisations, institutions, schools, colleges, community groups, special interest groups and businesses.
  • Contribute to developing educational interventions, resources and materials to support delivery.
  • Record data from visits and evaluation of the sessions delivered.
  • Management of Health and safety for the activities undertaken.
  • Other Ad Hoc duties to fulfil the requirement of the role         

About You

  • Full UK driving license and is willing to travel.
  • Experience of education / training.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and online meeting platforms eg Zoom or MS Teams).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
