This is a permanent night role for an experienced Vehicle Technician or Mechanic who enjoys diagnostics, fault finding and working independently. You’ll provide roadside repairs and emergency breakdown assistance, starting and finishing your shifts from home.
Must have right to work in the UK status.
Location: Harlow / North East London
Pay / salary: £48,121.87 basic including night allowance + bonus and overtime opportunities

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role
40 hours per week between 6am and 12pm, Monday to Sunday. Shifts known 4 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and / or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home, as soon as you start the van.
You’ll cover the Harlow cluster, including Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford, Sawbridgeworth, Waltham Abbey, Epping and Hoddesdon.
Work is organised locally, allowing you to start and finish from home.

Job Responsibilities for the Roadside Technician role
• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out roadside repairs including battery replacements and tyre changes.
• Complete mechanical repairs and fault finding where possible at the roadside.
• Provide temporary solutions when a full repair cannot be completed.
• Advise members clearly on the next steps, including recovery where required.
• Work safely and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.
What you’ll need to be considered for the Roadside Technician role
• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent with at least 2 years' relevant experience; or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
• Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical diagnostic experience.
• Confident fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based night role.
• Must have a Full UK Driving Licence with fewer than 6 points.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
