Our client, a reputable UK-wide recovery business, is actively seeking experienced Roadside Vehicle Technicians to join their dedicated team. This role offers the chance to gain diverse technical experience outside of a traditional garage environment, working across Chelmsford and surrounding areas. As a Roadside Vehicle Technician, you will respond to breakdowns promptly, starting from your own driveway, with paid travel time incorporated into your working hours.

Duties of a Roadside Vehicle Technician:
  • Respond to breakdown requests across Chelmsford and surrounding areas
  • Perform electrical, diagnostic, and repair work on a variety of vehicle makes and models
  • Fault-finding and troubleshooting on-site to resolve breakdown issues efficiently
  • Conduct safety and quality checks on vehicles
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
  • Provide excellent customer service during roadside assistance calls
  • Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times
Requirements of a Roadside Vehicle Technician:
  • Full UK driving licence
  • A minimum of a Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in vehicle repair and diagnostics
  • Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work independently
  • Customer-centric approach with excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to work weekends, with approximately 50% rota weekends (generally fewer)
  • Demonstrable experience in electrical and diagnostic work in a roadside or mobile environment
