Room-Based Third-in-Charge -Near Billericay   Are you an experienced Room Leader ready to take the next step, or an established Third-in-Charge looking for a new challenge? We're looking for a passionate Early Years professional to join our leadership team at our high-quality nursery near Billericay. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys leading by example, supporting colleagues and delivering exceptional care and education. Experienced Room Leaders looking to progress into management are encouraged to apply.   The Role   As our Room-Based Third-in-Charge, you'll lead your own room while supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery. You'll help maintain outstanding standards and take responsibility for the nursery when required.   Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire your room team to deliver outstanding childcare and education
  • Support the daily running of the nursery alongside the management team
  • Act as key holder, including opening and closing the nursery when required
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health & safety and compliance
  • Ensure staff ratios, registers and daily routines run smoothly
  • Coach, mentor and support the development of your team
  • Monitor children's learning, observations and planning to ensure high-quality outcomes
  • Build strong partnerships with children, families and colleagues
  • Support inspections, quality improvement and continuous development
  • Promote the nursery and provide excellent customer service

  • Step into a leadership role in the absence of the Manager or Deputy Manager

     

What We're Looking For
  • Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
  • Experience as a Room Leader or senior Early Years practitioner
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills

  • A positive, enthusiastic and child-centred approach
