An opportunity has arisen for a Residential Support Worker / Key Worker / Therapeutic Practitioner to join a specialist children’s residential care provider supporting young people with SEMH needs through a safe and nurturing therapeutic environment.

As a Residential Support Worker / Key Worker / Therapeutic Practitioner, you will provide emotional and practical support to young people, helping create a safe, stable and positive home environment.

This full-time role offers a salary range of £16.00 - £17.50 per hour plus £60 per sleep-in and benefits.  We are open to considering candidates on a Permanent, Temp-to-Perm, or Temporary basis.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building positive relationships with young people and acting as a consistent, professional role model.
  • Providing therapeutic and relational support to help young people manage emotional, developmental and behavioural needs.
  • Supporting the delivery and review of individual care plans, risk assessments and support strategies.
  • Maintaining appropriate routines, boundaries and structures to encourage positive behaviours and personal development.
  • Supporting young people with daily living skills, education, health appointments and community activities.
  • Completing accurate records, daily notes, incident reports and other required documentation.
  • Supporting safeguarding practices and responding appropriately to challenging situations.

What we are looking for:

  • Previously worked as a Residential Support Worker, Support Worker, Keyworker, Care worker, Care Assistant, Therapeutic Practitioner, Childcare Worker, Childcare Practitioner or in a similar role.
  • Prior experience working within a children’s residential home environment.
  • Experience supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs and/or complex trauma (beneficial)
  • Strong record-keeping skills and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • A positive and supportive approach when working with vulnerable young people.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Shift:

  • 2 days on / 4 days off rota
  • Includes 2 sleep-ins per working cycle
  • Weekend and bank holiday availability required
