Do you have experience supporting vulnerable young people and a passion for safeguarding, wellbeing, and student support?

An established education provider is seeking a compassionate and proactive Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer to join its student support team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in protecting and supporting young people while helping create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

This role would suit someone with experience in safeguarding, student support, pastoral care, youth work, education, social care, or wellbeing services.

The Role

Working closely with the Safeguarding & Wellbeing Manager and wider student support teams, you will help identify vulnerable students, manage safeguarding concerns, and provide guidance, support, and sign-posting to appropriate services.

You will work collaboratively across departments and with external agencies to ensure students receive the right support at the right time, helping improve wellbeing, engagement, attendance, and student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the management of safeguarding and wellbeing concerns across the organisation
  • Monitor safeguarding referrals and maintain accurate case records
  • Liaise with students, parents/carers, external agencies, and support professionals
  • Identify vulnerable learners and coordinate appropriate support interventions
  • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings
  • Provide guidance, signposting, and wellbeing support to students
  • Maintain confidential and accurate records using internal systems
  • Support safeguarding awareness and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and student welfare at all times
About You

We’re looking for someone who is calm, empathetic, highly organised, and able to manage sensitive situations professionally.

You should ideally have:
  • Experience working with young people and/or vulnerable adults
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and student wellbeing support
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping abilities
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a wider support network
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or equivalent)
  • A willingness to work flexibly when required
  • Experience within education, pastoral support, youth services, social care, safeguarding, mental health support, or student services would be highly advantageous.
