Role Overview
- Act as technical safety and assurance lead for fast‑jet operations
- Work closely with engineering teams and senior military stakeholders
- Provide independent, evidence‑based advice on operational decisions
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical safety and assurance across fast‑jet training and operations
- Review and challenge:
- Engineering decisions
- Risk assessments
- Safety cases and supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with:
- Civil aviation regulations
- Military aviation regulations
- Internal safety and engineering standards
- Present clear recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Operate as a key interface between:
- Engineering
- Safety
- Front‑line flying operations
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Background in aerospace / aeronautical engineering
- Ideally:
- Ex‑military OR
- Significant military aviation / defence aerospace experience
- Exposure to:
- Airworthiness
- Technical assurance
- Engineering management
- Civil and Military aviation regulation
- Platform experience:
- Fast‑jet strongly preferred
- Helicopter or relevant civilian aerospace considered
- Personal attributes:
- Confident and credible with senior officers
- Comfortable challenging decisions using data and evidence
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Security:
- SC clearance eligible (active is highly preferred)
