Sales Engineer

Salary: £45,000–£55,000
Location: Slough (with occasional travel to customer sites)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Engineer to join a growing technical team supporting customers across the UK. This position combines technical expertise with customer engagement, playing a key role in supporting sales activities, delivering technical solutions, and ensuring customers receive exceptional support throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will provide technical guidance from initial customer engagement through to implementation and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations to customers and partners.
  • Produce technical quotations, solution proposals, and tender responses.
  • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and post-deployment.
  • Deliver product and system training to customers and channel partners.
  • Support a portfolio of professional wireless communication technologies, including digital and analogue radio systems, LTE, Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC), and IP-based network infrastructure.
  • Assist customers with technical troubleshooting and solution design.

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys working with customers and solving complex engineering challenges.

You'll ideally have:

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK, with occasional travel within Europe.
  • Experience supporting professional mobile radio (PMR) or other mission-critical communications systems.
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, or maintaining analogue, DMR, LTE, or TETRA communication solutions.
  • Previous experience in a technical support, systems engineering, or pre-sales engineering role within a commercial B2B environment.
  • A qualification in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A solid understanding of RF engineering principles and wireless communications.
  • Knowledge of IP networking, including TCP/IP, routers, switches, firewalls, and related networking technologies.
  • Familiarity with DMR and TETRA standards, including Tier I, II and III architectures.
  • Strong analytical and fault-finding skills with a structured approach to problem solving.
  • Experience working with digital radio infrastructure, RF terminals, and associated communication systems.
  • Experience using service desk or ticket management software such as Zendesk or similar would be advantageous.
