Future Prospects Group are proud to recruiting a full time, permanent Sales Engineer for one of the world's leading manufacturing businesses. The overall purpose of the Sales Engineer role will be to deliver sales margin, and increase market share to selected key Industrial OEM customers.

The Role

The duties of the Sales Engineer will include the following core duties:

  • Create and achieve sales and margin budget - focusing on portfolio of agreed customer accounts. Monitor their performance and report on variances.
  • Identify and develop strategies and actions to win new customer business acquisition in line with the expectations of the UK Territory objectives.
  • Research, identify and qualify sufficient customer lead pipeline.
  • Provide an efficient and effective interface between the customer and all departments within the company's business units.
  • Lead cross functional relationships internally and the customer base developing extensive relationships to ensure preferred supplier status and continuous long term sales and margin growth.
  • Negotiate customer pricing to achieve margin target.
  • Ensure that all KPI’s are met as outlined through the relevant departmental objectives.
  • Use and maintain “Salesforce” CRM system.
  • Negotiate with Supply Department to ensure product supply chain robustness to meet agreed budgeted sales targets and customer expectations.
  • Using the above accountabilities to successfully lead, drive and manage key sales projects throughout the sales cycle.

The Candidate

The ideal Sales Engineer will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Degree level education or equivalent qualifications in a related discipline (desirable, not essential).
  • Technical sales experience with power transmission/rotating equipment or preferably bearing applications.
  • History of delivering sales growth through a ‘sales pipeline’ project management approach for new customers and existing customers.
  • Skills and experience to understand the commercial and technical implications within a situation and reconcile the demands of both.
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills and proficient at closing sales.
  • Skilled in the preparation and delivery of presentations to all levels of customer stake holder.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
