C&I Solar & Battery Storage Sales Manager

£55,000–£65,000 basic salary | UK-wide / Hybrid

£120k OTE

We’re supporting an ambitious and growing renewable energy business looking to appoint an experienced C&I Solar and Battery Storage Sales Manager.

This is a key commercial hire for someone who understands the commercial and industrial energy market and can develop opportunities across solar PV, battery energy storage and wider renewable-energy solutions.

You’ll have the freedom to build relationships, shape opportunities and work closely with technical and delivery teams to take projects from initial conversation through to contract award.

The role

  • Identify and develop new C&I solar PV and battery-storage opportunities
  • Build relationships with commercial property owners, developers, consultants, installers, energy users and strategic partners
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through to proposal, negotiation and close
  • Understand customer energy usage, commercial drivers and sustainability objectives
  • Work with technical teams to develop commercially viable solar and storage solutions
  • Present proposals, business cases and projected returns to senior decision-makers
  • Develop a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and provide accurate sales forecasts
  • Support tender submissions and larger, more complex commercial projects
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events and networking opportunities
  • Help shape the wider commercial strategy as the company continues to grow

What we’re looking for

  • Proven sales or business-development experience within C&I solar, battery storage, renewable energy or energy solutions
  • A strong understanding of the commercial solar and storage market
  • Experience developing and closing complex B2B projects
  • Confidence selling to business owners, directors, developers and other senior stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to explain project returns, payback and long-term value
  • A consultative approach rather than purely transactional selling
  • Strong pipeline management, forecasting and negotiation skills
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with technical and operational teams
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for customer meetings

Experience across any of the following would be particularly valuable:

  • Commercial rooftop and ground-mounted solar
  • Behind-the-meter battery storage
  • Energy optimisation and demand management
  • PPAs or funded energy solutions
  • Property, industrial, manufacturing or logistics customers
  • EPC, developer, installer or energy-consultancy environments
