Office Based: 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday (1 day hybrid working potential following probation)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Support Engineer with a growing and thriving business in Tunbridge Wells. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in supporting the sales and delivery teams by delivering accurate, competitive, and technically robust estimates for Building Management System projects.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare detailed and precise cost estimates from drawings, specifications, schedules, and tender documentation.
- Analyse hardware, software, installation, commissioning, and labour requirements to create comprehensive solutions.
- Conduct site surveys (via train/team expenses paid) to gather crucial technical information and assess project needs.
- Produce professional, competitive quotations, proposals, and tender submissions to a consistently high standard.
- Balance competitiveness with profitability to maintain appropriate margins while seizing new business opportunities.
- Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to gather accurate technical and commercial information.
- Stay updated on BMS technologies, products, pricing, market trends, and competitor activities.
- Maintain regular contact with prospective customers and actively follow up on quotations, tenders, and proposals to maximise conversion rates.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation professionally at customer meetings, networking events, exhibitions, and industry functions.
- Ensure all opportunities, quotations, customer interactions, and sales activities are accurately recorded within company systems.
- Prepare successful projects for handover and ensure a smooth transition to the delivery team.
What You Bring:
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Competency in using relevant tools, IT hardware, digital tools, and software.
- Strong computer literacy and technical knowledge.
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality in all work.
- A customer-focused mindset, whether dealing with internal or external stakeholders.
Experience:
- Proven experience within the Building Management Systems (BMS), controls, HVAC, or wider building services industry (Essential).
- Experience preparing quotations, estimates, tenders, or proposals for technical projects (Desirable).
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation (Essential).
