SC Cleared Azure Engineer / Workplace Engineer (Senior)

Hays are now looking for a Senior Azure & Modern Workplace Engineer / Architect for one of our local clients:

• £550 p/d Inside IR35
• Remote
• 6 month+ contract
• Must be currently SC Cleared

Overview We are seeking a Senior Microsoft Azure & Modern Workplace Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, scalable cloud and endpoint solutions. The role combines hands-on engineering with architecture, focusing on Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and enterprise device management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver Azure cloud, hybrid infrastructure, and modern workplace solutions.
• Implement and manage Microsoft 365 services including Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Administer Entra ID (Azure AD), identity governance, access management, and security controls.
• Manage Intune and Autopilot for endpoint provisioning, compliance, and lifecycle management.
• Deliver secure, automated device deployments across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
• Design resilient, cloud-first architectures and support migration away from legacy environments.
• Implement security best practices using tools such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Key Vault.
• Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Lead or support complex infrastructure and transformation projects across multiple locations.
• Drive automation, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure infrastructure, networking, and hybrid cloud experience.
• Proven experience delivering Microsoft 365 solutions in enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in Entra ID, Intune, and Autopilot.
• Enterprise endpoint and mobile device management experience.
• Cloud architecture and design experience.
• Strong understanding of security, governance, and compliance.
• Experience working in regulated environments and following structured change processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
