6 Month contract, Full-Time role

As a Scheme Assistant at Amplius, you’ll provide a visible, welcoming presence across our Later Living housing schemes at The Shrubberies in Woodford, The Forresters in Raunds and Farrar Court in Irthlingborough. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our schemes are safe, well-run and responsive to customer needs, supporting residents while carrying out compliance checks and monitoring services such as grounds maintenance and repairs. You’ll build positive relationships with customers, facilitate meetings, identify and respond to welfare concerns, and work closely with colleagues and contractors to resolve issues promptly, helping to create safe, welcoming communities where our customers feel supported and reassured.

Salary: £25,353.25 per year (plus car allowance of £2,750.28)

Contract: 6-Months Fixed Term Contract

Your week: 36.25 hours - Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:15pm with a 1-hour break

Snapshot of your role

  • Maintain safe and compliant schemes by completing health and safety checks, keeping accurate records and ensuring standards are met across communal areas, repairs and refurbishments.
  • Support residents’ health, wellbeing and independence through regular welfare checks, responding to emergencies, identifying safeguarding concerns and signposting residents to appropriate support services.
  • Build strong relationships with residents and communities, encouraging involvement in scheme activities, residents’ meetings and local events, while advocating for residents where appropriate.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of schemes, including communal facilities, cleaning, laundry equipment, grounds maintenance, mobility scooter storage and utility meter readings.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to address repairs, neighbourhood management issues, low-level ASB, empty properties and other concerns, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
  • Support effective scheme and tenancy management by assisting with viewings and tenancy sign-ups, managing stock and purchase orders, supporting income management and representing Amplius at relevant meetings.

What you’ll need to thrive in this role

  • Good standard of education, Literacy and Numeracy
  • Level 3 QCF recognised housing management qualification, or willingness to work towards
  • Understanding of the needs of older people, including housing, care, support and safeguarding.
  • Strong IT and administration skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, email and online systems.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work accurately in a busy environment.
  • Customer-focused and proactive team player, with strong problem-solving skills, a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to build positive relationships with customers, colleagues and partners.
