About the School

LTE Search is supporting a well-established, maintained special school in North East London supporting around 200 children and young people with autism.

The school is looking for an experienced, confident administrator to join its busy team on a temporary basis, initially for at least one term with the potential to extend.

This is a varied role combining school administration, front-of-house and day-to-day school operations, with the opportunity to become a key part of the wider school team.

The Role

You'll be one of the main points of contact for the school, working closely with staff, parents and visitors while supporting the smooth running of the school each day.

A key part of the role will be coordinating morning staff cover, starting at 7.30am, alongside:
  • Managing reception, visitors and safeguarding sign-in
  • Supporting pupil drop-off and collection
  • Handling calls, enquiries and day-to-day queries
  • Coordinating staff cover and responding to changes each morning
  • Providing general administration across the school
  • Maintaining records and databases
  • Supporting HR and staff administration
  • Working with school leaders and staff to resolve day-to-day issues
About You

We're looking for someone who is confident, organised and personable, with the ability to stay calm and take initiative in a busy school environment.

You will have:
  • Previous school administration experience (Essential)
  • Experience coordinating staff cover or supporting day-to-day school operations
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Confidence dealing with parents, staff and visitors
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • A proactive, practical approach and good judgement
SEND or specialist school experience would be a significant advantage, particularly experience working with children and young people with autism.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, people-focused and involved in the day-to-day running of a school.

The school is looking to appoint as soon as possible.

Safeguarding

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including Enhanced DBS, satisfactory references, online checks and overseas police checks where required.

School Experience

Previous experience working in a UK school is essential for this position. Applicants without school-based administrative experience will not be considered. Experience within a SEND or specialist setting would be a significant advantage.

Right to Work / Sponsorship

Please note that the school is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must have the existing right to work in the UK without sponsorship.

If you are an experienced school administrator with the confidence, organisation and practical approach to make an immediate contribution to a busy special school, we'd like to hear from you.
