School Assistant Cook in Coventry, West Midlands

Location: Coventry
Hours: 9.30am - 2.30pm
Contract: Temporary

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join the catering team at a friendly school setting.

The successful candidate will support the Cook with the preparation and serving of nutritious meals for pupils and staff, while maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of school meals
• Support the serving of meals to pupils and staff
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
• Follow food safety, allergen and health & safety procedures
• Assist with stock rotation, storage and general kitchen duties
• Work effectively as part of the school catering team

Requirements

• Previous catering or kitchen experience is desirable
• Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene
• Reliable, organised and able to work as part of a team
• A positive attitude and willingness to work in a school environment
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work in a school environment with consistent weekday hours.
