We are looking for dedicated School-Based Care Assistants to support children and young people with additional and complex needs within a specialist educational setting.
This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced care professionals, healthcare assistants, support workers or Teaching Assistants who are looking to bring their skills into a school environment. The role offers part-time and flexible work, with the opportunity to build regular hours around your availability.
You will support learners with autism, communication difficulties and complex needs, including non-verbal learners, helping them access education while ensuring their personal care, wellbeing and individual needs are fully supported.
Key Details
- Location: Aylesbury
- Pay: £14.50-£15.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Hours: Part-time and flexible - days can be discussed around your availability
- Contract: Temporary, ad-hoc work with opportunities for regular ongoing work
- Start: Immediate
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group care and support to pupils with additional needs
- Support pupils with personal and intimate care where required
- Assist non-verbal pupils with communication, sensory activities and learning
- Follow individual care, learning and support plans
- Support pupils with their daily routines and personal wellbeing
- Help pupils access lessons and participate in school activities
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals
- Maintain a calm, safe and nurturing environment
- Promote independence, dignity and positive relationships
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK - unfortunately, we cannot offer sponsorship
- Availability to work on a part-time or flexible basis
- Previous experience in care, healthcare, education or specialist support
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs is desirable
- Comfortable providing personal and intimate care
- A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with complex needs
