School Caretaker

Part-Time School Caretaker - Gravesend
Location: Gravesend
Hours: Monday to Friday, Part-Time (20 Hours Per Week)
Pay: £15+ per hour

Academics Ltd is currently seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking School Caretaker to join a welcoming and supportive school in Gravesend. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Caretaker or facilities professional looking for a long-term role within a thriving educational environment.

As a Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school premises remain safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors.

• Opening and securing the school premises each day
• Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs, and general handyman duties
• Undertaking routine health and safety inspections across the site
• Ensuring school buildings and grounds are safe, tidy, and well-maintained
• Setting up classrooms, halls, and other areas for school events and activities
• Monitoring site security and reporting maintenance concerns promptly
• Supporting with deliveries, contractor visits, and site access arrangements
• Assisting with the day-to-day upkeep of school facilities and equipment

• Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Manager, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Operative, or in a similar role
• Good practical maintenance, repair, and DIY skills
• A strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities
• The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
• A flexible, hands-on, and dependable approach
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

• Part-time position working 20 hours per week
