SCHOOL CARETAKER / ASSISTANT SITE CONTROLLER
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced School Caretaker / Assistant Site Controller who is looking for a permanent part-time, term-time position at a welcoming secondary school near Datchet, Berkshire.
This role offers an excellent work-life balance, with 12 weeks' holiday per year, making it ideal for someone seeking stable part-time employment.
What We Offer
- Permanent part-time position
- 20 hours per week, term-time
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 3:00pm – 6:00pm
- Thursday: 3:00pm – 8:30pm
- £14.50 – £14.90 per hour
- Opportunity to earn additional income during football season, including weekends at £17.57 per hour

The Role
As a School Caretaker / Assistant Site Controller, you will help ensure the school site is safe, secure, clean and well maintained for students, staff and visitors.
The school is situated on a large 23-acre site, making this a varied role involving both indoor and outdoor work.
Key Responsibilities as a school caretaker
- Locking and securing the school site at the end of the day
- Setting up rooms for assemblies, meetings and evening events
- Supporting school activities and events
- Managing the car park during events
- Supporting private lettings and external users
- Supporting seasonal Sunday football fixtures
- Liaising with cleaning staff
- Reporting and responding to health and safety issues
- Receiving and moving parcels
- Litter picking and emptying external bins
- Carrying out general site duties and basic maintenance
- Helping to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming school environment

Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Controller, Assistant Site Manager, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Assistant, Handyman or Estates Assistant would be advantageous.
Practical skills in DIY, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting/decorating or general maintenance would also be desirable.
