School Catering Assistant / Lunchtime Supervisor

Location: Plymouth, Devon 
Start Date: September 

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and caring School Catering Assistant / Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly team. This dual-role position involves supporting the preparation and serving of school meals, while also helping to ensure a safe, positive, and enjoyable lunchtime environment for pupils.

Key Responsibilities

Catering Assistant Duties

• Assist with the preparation and serving of meals.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
• Set up and clear away dining areas.
• Wash kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Follow all health and safety procedures.

Lunchtime Supervisor Duties

• Supervise pupils during lunch breaks.
• Promote positive behaviour and ensure pupil safety.
• Assist children where required during mealtimes.
• Encourage good manners and positive social interaction.
• Report any concerns to the appropriate member of staff.

Essential Requirements

• Previous catering experience, either within a school setting or in a general catering environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A positive and approachable attitude when working with children.
• Ability to follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures.

Safeguarding Requirements

This role is subject to safeguarding checks. Applicants must hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service, or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check prior to commencing employment.
