School Cleaner in Silvertown, Greater London

We are currently recruiting for a School Cleaner to join a friendly and supportive school team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and creating a safe, welcoming environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing throughout the school.
• Operating cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers where required.
• Emptying bins and maintaining clean toilet and shower facilities.
• Reporting hazards, maintenance issues, blockages, or fire risks to the site team.
• Assisting with deep cleaning during school holidays, including:
  • Moving classroom furniture
  • Scrubbing and polishing floors
  • Washing walls, tables, and chairs
  • High-level dusting
  • Returning classrooms to their original setup

What We're Looking For

• Previous cleaning experience preferred. Commercial or industrial cleaning experience is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
• Physically fit and able to move furniture, bins, and cleaning equipment.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good awareness of health and safety procedures, particularly regarding cleaning products and hygiene standards.

Essential Requirements

• Enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
• Fluent spoken English.
• Local to the area or able to commute easily, as shift lengths may be shorter and suited to candidates living nearby.
