We are seeking to appoint a reliable, enthusiastic, and hardworking Groundsperson to join our Estates and Facilities team as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the school’s extensive grounds, gardens, sports areas, and outdoor facilities to an exceptional standard. This is an opportunity for a practical individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys creating a safe, attractive, and welcoming outdoor environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the school grounds, lawns, gardens, sports pitches, and external areas to a high standard.
- Carry out general grounds maintenance duties including mowing, strimming, edging, pruning, planting, weeding, and seasonal work.
- Assist with the preparation and upkeep of sports pitches and playing surfaces.
- Operate grounds maintenance machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain pathways, car parks, and outdoor spaces, ensuring they are clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
- Support landscaping projects and improvements across the school site.
- Assist the Estates team with general site duties and preparation for school events when required.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and school policies.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, landscaping, or a similar role.
- A good understanding of maintaining outdoor spaces to a high standard.
- Experience using grounds maintenance tools and machinery.
- A practical, proactive approach with good attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
- A full UK driving licence would be desirable.
