School Library Technician

School Library Technician / Stone / November Start / Fixed-Term Contract

Academics, a leading education recruitment agency, are currently recruiting on behalf of a school in Stone, Staffordshire, who are looking for a School Library Technician to join their team from November.

This is approx. an 8-week fixed-term position, working Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-4:30pm, and Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm, covering an absence and including a short handover period.

The Role:

• Managing the issuing and returning of books and maintaining accurate library records
• Supporting pupils and staff using the library, including supervising small groups
• Operating reprographic equipment, including printing, photocopying, laminating and binding
• Supporting general administration and IT-based tasks
• Supervising pupils and maintaining appropriate behaviour in the library
• Providing emergency first aid support to pupils with the wider team of first aiders

Requirements:

• Organised, reliable and able to work independently
• Confident working with children and adults
• Experience in an administrative, supervisory, library or school-based role
• Comfortable using IT and reprographic equipment
• Methodical with strong attention to detail
• Able to promote a positive and well-managed environment for pupils
