Responsibilities
- First Point of Contact — Welcoming visitors, parents, and pupils warmly while maintaining school security and check-in protocols.
- Inbound Communications — Managing the busy front-desk switchboard, filtering phone calls, and responding promptly to email enquiries.
- Pupil Attendance — Coordinating daily attendance tracking, logging absences, and contacting parents when necessary.
- Administrative Support — Assisting school leadership with letter formatting, distributing newsletters, and document handling.
- Admissions Assistance — Providing basic information packs to prospective families and managing inbound post.
- Medical & First Aid — Assisting with minor student medical needs or contacting first aiders according to school policy.
Requirements
- Prior Front of House Experience — Proven experience working in a school office or a busy front-of-house customer service environment.
- Immediate Availability — Ready to start work ASAP without lengthy notice period constraints.
- Exceptional Communication — A warm, professional, and confident telephone manner alongside a reliable written style.
- Organised & Calm — Ability to multitask efficiently and remain composed in a fast-paced school environment.
- Technical Proficiency — Strong basic IT skills, including MS Office; familiarity with school databases (e.g., SIMS, Arbor) is highly beneficial.
- Safeguarding Awareness — Committed to student safety and welfare. The successful candidate must hold or be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS background check.
