School Science Technician - Chorley

If so, you might be the perfect candidate for this interim role of school science technician at our school based in the Chorley area!

Your new role

Due to an influx of requests, we are looking for school science/lab technicians to join their friendly and supportive science departments for schools located in the Chorley, Wigan and West Lancs areas. You will work closely with the science teachers to prepare and maintain the equipment and materials for practical experiments and demonstrations. You will also assist in the health and safety management of the laboratories and ensure that all relevant policies and procedures are followed.

These are full-time positions on a long-term, temporary, basis for at least a term initially - starting in September 2026.

What you'll need to succeed

* A relevant vocational qualification in laboratory or science-related activities or equivalent experience
* A good knowledge of scientific techniques, equipment and materials
* A commitment to health and safety in schools
* A strong commitment to supporting students' learning and achievement
* A flexible and proactive approach to work
* A willingness to undertake further training and development as required
