CANDL Recruitment is working with a highly regarded secondary academy in Camden North London to recruit a Science Teacher with a Chemistry specialism for a long-term position.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Science across KS3 and KS4.
• Deliver Chemistry within your subject specialism.
• Plan engaging and challenging lessons.
• Assess pupil progress and provide meaningful feedback.
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different learners.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development.
• Support students to build confidence and enthusiasm for Science.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom practice.
• Contribute positively to the wider Science department.

Requirements

Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Strong Chemistry subject knowledge.
• Confidence teaching general Science across secondary age groups.
• Good classroom management.
• Strong planning and assessment skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students.
• Availability to start quickly.

Desirable:

• Experience teaching GCSE Chemistry.
• Experience within an academically ambitious school.
• Experience teaching across multiple Science disciplines.
• Strong practical Science experience.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about Science and able to make complex ideas clear and engaging.

You will have strong subject knowledge, good classroom presence and the ability to build positive relationships with students.

You should also be adaptable, reflective and committed to helping pupils make strong academic progress.
