Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Term Time Only (Inclusive of 8 INSET days) Part-Time 2-3 days per week.

About the Role:

The Science Teacher will oversee the Science curriculum, ensuring it remains engaging, well-structured and reflective of current scientific understanding. You will work closely with colleagues to support high-quality teaching, maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, and contribute to the wider life of the school.

This role suits a teacher who is organised, collaborative and eager to shape Science provision in a school that values creativity, warmth and academic rigour.

The candidate must be proactive, motivated and adaptable, with the ability to cope with a busy timetable.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and update the Science curriculum and policy annually (EYFS, KS1, Year 3)
  • Monitor discrete and cross-curricular Science teaching
  • Ensure planning supports EAL, SEN and enrichment pupils
  • Track pupil progress and adjust curriculum provision as needed
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education
  • Attend relevant CPD and training
  • Maintain and develop Science resources and equipment
  • Take stock and place orders when required
  • Ensure the Science Room is tidy, organised and clearly labelled
  • Use resources efficiently and effectively

  • Knowledgeable about primary Science pedagogy and curriculum design
