Think FE is recruiting for a Science Teacher to join a well-established further education college in Warwickshire. This is a permanent opportunity for an enthusiastic science specialist who enjoys making the subject practical, accessible and relevant to learners.
The role sits within a supportive curriculum team and involves delivering GCSE Science across Biology, Chemistry and Physics to students within the college's wider study programmes. You'll have the opportunity to develop engaging lessons, support learners with different starting points and help students build the knowledge and confidence they need to progress.
The Role You'll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging GCSE Science lessons, creating appropriate learning resources and assessing student progress. You'll provide pastoral and academic support where required, maintain accurate learner records and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
You'll also work collaboratively with colleagues, liaise with parents, carers and other relevant stakeholders where appropriate, and support wider curriculum activities and events.
What We're Looking For You'll ideally have:
- QTS, QTLS or PGCE, plus a degree in a related subject
- GCSE Maths and English at grades A–C / 4–9, or equivalent
- Successful experience teaching GCSE Science
- Experience working with learners with SEND, EAL or SEMH needs
- A positive approach to supporting students from different backgrounds and starting points
- A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
Applicants without a PGCE may still be considered where they have relevant teaching experience. The college is particularly interested in candidates able to deliver Physics, although applications from Biology and Chemistry specialists are also welcomed.
Salary and Benefits The position offers a salary of £34,500 – £39,000 per annum, depending on experience, alongside a strong benefits package that includes:
