We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Science Technician to join an established science department and supportive secondary school in Newham. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in supporting high-quality science teaching and learning.



The Role

As Science Technician, you will work closely with the Science Department to:

  • Prepare equipment, materials and resources for practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics

  • Maintain laboratories, equipment and stock, ensuring a safe and well-organised working environment

  • Support teachers during practical lessons when required

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH

  • Manage ordering, storage and disposal of chemicals and equipment



The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working in a school science laboratory or a similar practical environment (desirable)

  • Has good organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Understands (or is willing to learn) health and safety requirements in a science setting

  • Is proactive, flexible and able to work well as part of a team

  • Has good communication skills and a positive, professional attitude

Relevant qualifications in science or laboratory work are desirable, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
