We are seeking a Science Technician with an ideal background in Chemistry to join our dedicated Science Department from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting high-quality science education and enjoys working in a busy school environment.

The Role

As a Science Technician, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of practical science across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring that lessons are well prepared, safe and engaging for students.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and setting up equipment, chemicals and materials for practical science lessons.
  • Supporting teachers and students during practical experiments where required.
  • Maintaining, cleaning and safely storing laboratory equipment and resources.
  • Ensuring laboratories and preparation areas are kept organised and compliant with health and safety requirements.
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels and ordering equipment and consumables when necessary.
  • Assisting with the safe disposal of chemicals and laboratory waste.
  • Carrying out routine checks and basic maintenance of equipment.
  • Supporting the Science Department with demonstrations, practical assessments and special activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with school procedures and health and safety requirements.

Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a secondary school would be advantageous, although candidates with relevant laboratory, scientific or technical experience may also be considered.
