This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join a leading biotech company with branches in Cambridge (UK), Houston (US) and Leiden (NL), providing products and services globally.
We are looking for a tenacious, competent and organized individual to join our high-paced, dynamic Technical Support team in Bar Hill.
You will be responsible for providing support to customers and keeping product data accurate and up to date. This will be an evolving role with exciting prospects for the right candidate.
As our Scientific Data Specialist you will be responsible for:
- Liaising with channel partners and colleagues to obtain latest product information
- Manipulating large Excel sheets using formulas and macros
- Ensuring product data on our website is up to date, accurate and complete
- Creating product lists for marketing and distributors as required
- Supporting members of staff with product documentation including datasheets and manuals
- Reviewing customer feedback and suggesting relevant improvements
- Providing scientific technical support and supporting customers via email and phone with any queries
- Provide pre-sales customer support to a wide range of clients and customers
- Liaising promptly with multiple departments to ensure smooth service
- Suggesting automation and/or improvements for front and back end processes and functionality
Skills and Experience
It’s essential that you have / are:
- Life sciences degree (BSc, MRes, MSc, PhD) or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques (WB, IHC, ELISA etc.)
- Capable of methodical problem solving and ability to identify patterns
- Fluent in English both written and spoken
It would be great if you had / were:
- Experience in customer support or troubleshooting
- Proficiency with Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Experience with programming language (e.g. Python)
- Ecommerce platform experience
- You will be organized, curious, efficient and practical, as well as a methodical multi-tasker with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
You will also display attention to detail and the ability to think ‘outside the box’, have common sense, good communication skills, memory and be reliable, discreet and a good time-keeper. You are comfortable with repetitive tasks, using a computer for extended periods of time.
Full training will be provided. You will be organized, creative, decisive, efficient and practical. You will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, have good communication skills and engage an audience. You will be passionate about delivering scientific content to a wide audience via various channels.
This role is 100% office based in a large open-plan, newly refurbished modern office space.
