Are you a resilient and passionate teacher committed to transforming young lives? Teaching Personnel is recruiting a dedicated SEMH Teacher to work within a specialist PRU setting in Salford, supporting students aged 11–16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, and barriers to learning.
About the Role
You’ll teach small groups of pupils who may have struggled in mainstream education, delivering tailored lessons in a structured, supportive environment. With a strong emphasis on building relationships, consistency, and personalised support, this role offers the opportunity to re-engage learners and make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
- Support students’ academic progress and emotional development
- Manage and respond to challenging behaviour using de-escalation strategies
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Monitor progress and contribute to personalised learning plans
- Work closely with support staff and pastoral teams
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience with SEMH, PRU, or challenging behaviour (highly desirable)
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Resilient, adaptable, and empathetic approach
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
