Luma Education Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary SEMH school seeking a passionate and resilient Maths Teacher to join their permanent teaching team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is committed to helping young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs achieve positive educational outcomes. You'll teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in small classes, building strong relationships and creating an engaging learning environment where every pupil can succeed.

Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons for students with SEMH needs.
- Adapt teaching to meet individual EHCP targets and a range of learning abilities.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage engagement, confidence and academic progress.
- Promote emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour through consistent classroom practice.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral teams and senior leaders.
- Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.
- Contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching Mathematics within a UK secondary school.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for making Maths accessible to all learners.
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach when working with young people with additional needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Experience working within SEMH schools, Alternative Provision, PRUs or specialist settings.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, restorative approaches or positive behaviour support.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, ADHD or Autism.
- Permanent full-time position.
- Salary of £38,000 - £43,000 per annum, depending on experience.
