Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity within a large and welcoming secondary academy in Doncaster?
Tradewind Education are currently recruiting for a full-time Secondary Teaching Assistant to join the academy on an ongoing basis, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA, or someone looking to develop their career within education, to make a real difference to the lives and learning of young people.
The Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide effective support to students across the academy. You will help pupils overcome barriers to learning, encourage positive behaviour and contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students in lessons across a range of subjects.
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required.
- Helping students to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
- Supporting students with additional learning needs and barriers to learning.
- Working closely with classroom teachers to implement effective learning strategies.
- Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and participation.
- Helping to develop students' confidence, independence and social skills.
- Monitoring and reporting on students' progress where appropriate.
- Supporting the wider pastoral and academic needs of students.
- Maintaining a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Following academy policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Have GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, in both English and Maths.
- Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Have a genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them succeed.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be patient, approachable and able to build positive relationships with students.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- Have a proactive and flexible approach to supporting students.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Have the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Ideally have experience supporting students with additional needs, although this is not essential.
