We work with pupils who may be educated other than at school, awaiting a suitable placement, or in need of additional personalised support. Tuition is usually delivered on a 1:1 basis and is tailored to the needs, ability and circumstances of each young person.
We are interested in tutors with experience across a range of secondary subjects, including English, Maths, Science, Humanities and other curriculum areas. The successful tutor will be able to provide a calm, flexible and young person-centred approach, building positive relationships and delivering engaging sessions that support confidence, progress and re-engagement with education.

Supporting pupils across one or more secondary curriculum subjects
Travelling to pupils' homes and/or suitable community settings
Planning and delivering personalised learning activities
Supporting academic progress, confidence and engagement
Helping pupils re-engage with education at a pace that is right for them
Adapting sessions to suit each young person's needs, ability and emotional readiness
Supporting pupils who may have SEND, SEMH needs, anxiety, EBSA, or gaps in education
Working professionally with parents/carers and relevant professionals
Keeping brief records of session content, attendance, engagement and progress
Essential requirements:
Experience working with secondary-aged pupils
Strong subject knowledge in one or more secondary curriculum areas
A patient, encouraging and flexible approach
The ability to plan engaging, personalised learning sessions
Strong communication and organisational skills
A clear commitment to safeguarding and supporting positive outcomes for young people

Please also note that this is not an online tutoring role. Applicants must be available for in-person tuition in Glastonbury and the surrounding areas.
Qualified Teacher Status would be highly desirable, particularly for referrals requiring a qualified teacher. We would also welcome applications from experienced tutors, instructors or education professionals with strong secondary subject knowledge and relevant experience.
Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS certificate and be able to provide suitable references.
