Section Engineer – Infrastructure Scheme

Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire
Salary: Competitive + Package

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer to join a major infrastructure scheme in Didcot, working for a well-established main contractor.

This is a site-based role supporting the delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure works, with responsibility for technical coordination, quality, setting out and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with the design and project requirements.

The Role

• Provide engineering support across a designated section of the infrastructure project.
• Coordinate with Site Agents, engineers, subcontractors and the wider project team.
• Ensure works are constructed in accordance with approved designs, specifications and relevant standards.
• Manage and review technical information, drawings and documentation.
• Oversee quality control, inspections and testing, ensuring records are maintained correctly.
• Support the planning and sequencing of works to ensure delivery against programme.
• Liaise with designers and resolve technical queries and issues as they arise.
• Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the project management team.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality requirements are maintained across the works.

About You

• Previous experience as a Section Engineer or similar engineering role on civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering construction.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure schemes.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, quality procedures and inspection requirements.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant civil engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• CSCS and relevant engineering/site qualifications.
• Experience with structures, earthworks or highways would be advantageous.
