Security Infrastructure Engineer – Space & Technology
Standard 8 Recruitment Ltd
Security Infrastructure Engineer – Space & Technology
Cloud | Linux | Security | Infrastructure
Standard 8 is working with a highly technical organisation operating in the UK space sector, and we’re looking for a Security Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing technology team.
You’ll work across a varied infrastructure estate, helping keep critical systems secure, resilient and properly maintained. It’s hands-on work covering 3rd line support, cloud, Linux, IAM, vulnerability management, SIEM/EDR, patching, hardening and incident response.
You’ll also get involved in infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology refreshes, working alongside infrastructure, networking and application engineers.
What we’re looking for
-
3–5+ years across infrastructure, security or DevSecOps
-
AWS, Azure or GCP
-
Linux administration and system hardening
-
IAM, SSO, MFA and privileged access
-
SIEM, EDR and vulnerability management
-
TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls and VPNs
-
Terraform, Ansible, Python or Bash
-
Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes
-
Strong troubleshooting and incident investigation skills
Experience with ISO 27001, NIST or CIS Benchmarks would be useful, while certifications such as CISSP, CCSP or Security+ are a bonus rather than a deal-breaker.
This should suit an engineer who enjoys getting under the bonnet, fixing problems properly and improving how infrastructure is secured — with the added attraction of doing it in an industry where the technology is genuinely interesting.
