We are currently recruiting for an experienced Security Systems Engineer to join an established security systems business.

This is a field-based role covering the Midlands and surrounding areas, providing installation, servicing, maintenance and commissioning of a wide range of Intruder Alarm, CCTV and Access Control systems across domestic, commercial and industrial properties.

The ideal candidate will have experience within the security industry, with strong technical knowledge and the ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.

Key Responsibilities of Security Systems Engineer:

  • Attending customer sites to scheduled appointments.
  • Installing and commissioning both small and large Intruder Alarm, CCTV and Access Control systems.
  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and fault finding across a range of security systems.
  • Working with IP and analogue CCTV systems.
  • Providing detailed onsite analysis of system faults and potential issues.
  • Troubleshooting systems efficiently and identifying appropriate solutions.
  • Clearly explaining works undertaken and any additional requirements to customers.
  • Identifying opportunities for system upgrades and additional works.
  • Ensuring customers are satisfied with the work completed.
  • Leaving customer sites clean, tidy and professionally presented.
  • Supporting stock control and maintaining responsibility for company and personal tools and equipment.
  • Keeping up to date with new technologies, legislation and industry regulations.
  • Attending relevant training, toolbox talks and technical development sessions.
  • Participating in an out-of-hours standby rota as required.

Experience Needed:

  • Practical experience installing, servicing and maintaining Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Access Control.
  • Solid working knowledge of Honeywell Galaxy and Texecom systems.
  • Experience working with both IP and analogue CCTV.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Good understanding of relevant British Standards for installation and maintenance.
  • Emergency First Aid at Work certification.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A professional and personable approach when dealing with customers.
