SEMH Learning Support Assistant – Northampton

Location: Northampton


Pay: £14–£16 per hour


Start Date: ASAP

 

TeacherActive are currently looking for SEMH Learning Support Assistants to work within a college setting in Northampton. We have both temporary and permanent opportunities available for the right candidates.

 

The successful Learning Support Assistant will be working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, providing support both in and outside of the classroom.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups, helping students to engage with their learning, manage their behaviour and develop their confidence and independence.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people with SEMH, SEND, challenging behaviour or additional needs. Experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, SEMH Support Worker, Youth Worker or in a similar support role would be beneficial.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting young people with additional needs

  • Be confident supporting students with SEMH and challenging behaviour

  • Be patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships

  • Have a genuine passion for supporting young people

  • Be able to work effectively alongside teaching and support staff
