SEMH Primary Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with a specialist SEMH school in the Salisbury area to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher (QTS) for a September start. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and nurturing environment that works with pupils who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This role would suit an experienced teacher or confident ECT who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and making a meaningful impact on their educational journey.
The Role:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum
- Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH needs
- Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Build strong relationships that promote engagement and learning
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback
- Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and wider support teams
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within a primary setting
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Patient, resilient, and relationship‑focused approach
- Able to adapt teaching to meet a range of learning and emotional needs
- Passionate about supporting pupils with SEMH needs
- Suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs
Contract Details:
- Position: SEMH Primary Teacher (QTS)
- Location: Salisbury
- Start Date: September
- Working Pattern: Full‑time
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Pay Rate: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
- Key Stage: Primary
- Setting: SEMH School
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- QTS required
- Experience working with SEMH or SEN pupils beneficial but not essential
- ECTs welcome to apply
- Safeguarding training can be provided
