SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH) - Aston
Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs requires patience, resilience, and a calm, confident presence. This role centres on helping students manage challenging behaviour, build emotional regulation skills, and access learning in a safe, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
· SEMH support - Provide tailored assistance to pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.
· Behaviour guidance - Use de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour approaches.
· Classroom assistance - Work closely with the class teacher to deliver structured learning.
· 1:1 mentoring - Build trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe and understood.
· Progress monitoring - Support emotional, social, and academic development.
Role Details
· Location: Aston
· Daily pay: GBP92.59 - GBP104.21
· Ideal candidate: Someone confident, patient, emotionally intelligent, and skilled at supporting challenging behaviour and mental health needs.
